Ghana-Bilateral Relations – Chinese Ambassador calls on Interior Minister

The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Cong Song, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed–Mubarak, reaffirming China’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation with Ghana.

The Ambassador described the Ministry of the Interior as a vital institution in Ghana’s governance and security architecture, emphasizing its central role in maintaining peace and stability.

He noted that the Chinese Embassy remains committed to promoting strong diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries and stands ready to work closely with the Ministry to advance shared interests. 

Addressing issues of law and order, Ambassador Song stressed the importance of Chinese nationals in Ghana abiding by the country’s laws. He expressed China’s support for Ghana’s efforts to curb illegal mining, noting that responsible business practices are essential for sustainable development and mutual benefit. 

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka commended the positive working relationship between the Ministry, the Chinese Embassy, and the Chinese community in the country. He emphasized the need for continued collaboration, particularly in areas such as capacity building, technology, and knowledge exchange to enhance the effectiveness of Ghana’s security services. 

The Minister reiterated the importance of cooperation in addressing shared challenges and assured the Ambassador of the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with the Chinese Embassy to strengthen bilateral ties.

They expressed optimism about the future of Ghana-China relations and a shared commitment to fostering peace, security, and development.
