Some executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ahanta West have petitioned former President John Dramani Mahama to remove Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Ebenezer Aidoo from office, citing alleged misconduct and abuse of authority.

The petition claims the MCE locked the Municipal Assembly Hall to stop a scheduled meeting, bypassed key party executives and elected representatives in decision-making, and was allegedly involved in illegal mining activities despite publicly opposing them. Petitioners also accuse him of using security personnel for controversial operations involving intimidation and making unsubstantiated accusations against traditional leaders, straining community relations.

The executives warn that failure to act could harm party unity and local development, urging President Mahama to revoke the MCE’s appointment in the interest of accountability.

Meanwhile, the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly has distanced itself from the petition, stating that internal issues with the MCE have been resolved through dialogue and reaffirming support for his leadership.
