The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed claims circulating in sections of the media that it has approved the extension of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) services to Ghanaian missions abroad.

In a press release issued in Accra on Wednesday, the Ministry clarified that it has neither issued any directive to its diplomatic missions nor granted approval to any entity to facilitate the registration and renewal of Ghanaian drivers’ licenses overseas.

The viral reports had suggested that DVLA staff would be deployed to countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Germany to serve Ghanaians living in the diaspora.

However, the Ministry stated categorically that it is unaware of any new government policy supporting such an initiative. It further noted that there is no record at the Ministry indicating formal engagement, policy approval, or financial commitment toward the purported arrangement.

Reassuring the public, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to transparency and financial prudence in public service delivery and urged media houses to verify information before publication.
