The Ghana Gold Board (Goldbod) has threatened to revoke the licences of Gold-buying companies that fail to report their transactions monthly.
Companies are mandated to prepare and submit to the GoldBod monthly transaction reports detailing all the daily gold purchases, the quantity, purity, value, and other activities conducted within the reporting period.
This is part of the terms and conditions of the licence.
In a statement, it said the monthly transaction reports are to be submitted within 15 days after the end of every month.
As such, gold buying licences were required to submit their report for the month of January 2026 by February 15, 2026.
“All gold buying licensees are hereby reminded that failure to comply with any term or condition of their licence is a ground for revocation of the licence and an offence under section 63 of the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025.”
GoldBod reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing the laws and regulations that govern the gold trading sector in the spirit of accountability and transparency.
