Veteran Ghanaian actor Agya Koo, known privately as Alexander Kofi Adu, has disclosed that the ongoing court case involving The Base Movement and Base Ghana First LBG has been adjourned to Friday, May 15, 2026.

The matter, currently before a High Court in Accra, centres on disputes over the use of the name and branding associated with the two organisations.

According to court filings, Base Ghana First LBG, a breakaway faction from The Base Movement founded by Agya Koo, is accusing the original group of misrepresentation and allegedly using its identity in ways that could mislead the public.

Speaking on the issue, Agya Koo expressed optimism that the legal process would help restore order and ease tensions surrounding the dispute.

Court documents indicate that both factions were initially part of The Base Movement before internal disagreements reportedly led to a split and the formation of Base Ghana First LBG in March 2026.

The plaintiff alleges that tensions emerged over leadership decisions, internal governance procedures, and the management of the organisation’s affairs.

According to the suit, some national executives were allegedly removed from official communication platforms, while activities of the original movement were suspended without adequate consultation or due process.

Base Ghana First LBG further claims that the leadership of The Base Movement established a nine-member executive council in violation of the organisation’s internal regulations.

Lawyers for the plaintiff argue that after the split, the new group quickly expanded its support base and established a growing presence across the country.

However, the suit alleges that The Base Movement continues to use the name “The Base Ghana First” on souvenirs, signboards, and official materials, creating public confusion and implying an affiliation between the two groups.

The plaintiff contends that the continued use of the name is misleading supporters and potential investors while benefiting from the goodwill and recognition built by Base Ghana First LBG.

As part of the reliefs being sought, the breakaway group is requesting a perpetual injunction to restrain The Base Movement from using the disputed name in any public or official capacity.
