In the midst of Ghana’s recurring power outages, locally known as “dumsor,” the devastating impact on small-scale businesses has once again come to light, as illustrated by the plight of an iced kenkey seller who has been left reeling from the loss of her livelihood.
With a heavy heart and tear-stained eyes, the seller, whose identity remains anonymous, recounts the harrowing ordeal of witnessing more than 100 bottles of her cherished product spoil due to prolonged power cuts.
The delicate balance of ice-cooled kenkey, a popular delicacy among Ghanaians, proved no match for the unforgiving grip of “dumsor,” leaving her with little recourse but to watch helplessly as her stock perished.

Compassion karikari – Nana Addo addressing workers yesterday said “there is no dumsor under his rule” and his minister of energy too before yesterday had said “if you want timetable prepare one yourself.” One leader accepted that there was dumsor and tried his best to solve it the other no de3 nothing
Nana osei Addae – Imagine this happening for over 4 years asem ooooo
Kelvin Ashong – This is so sad. You could hear her frustration from her voice. She’s so pained and thing is this: our leaders are so selfish and they’ll do nothing about this mess. They are not feeling this heat because they have plants in their homes and their work places. This is a young ordinary Ghanaian crying…..it’s imperative that all youths forget about Ghana for awhile and focus on themselves on becoming better
Rivals – How do you guys feel hearing this .. Do you people have heart
Idusarfo – Wow! Remembering us those days when dumsor was at its peak. Never
Iam- 7 December God Almighty will redeem us all from this evi
