Patrick Amofah, Director of Hourhand Watch Company, has presented customized solid gold wristwatches to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and his wife, Lady Julia.
The presentation took place at the Manhyia Palace during the Awukudae Festival on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
The exclusive timepieces, designed to reflect the rich heritage of Asanteman, feature the images of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Lady Julia on the bottom of the watch faces.
The casebacks of both watches display the Asante flag, symbolising the Kingdom’s cultural pride.
The young Ghanaian entrepreneur was accompanied by Oheneba Owusu Korkor, Asamponghene, who addressed the Asantehene and members of the Kumasi Traditional Council on his behalf. According to Oheneba, Amofah visited the Palace to seek the blessings of Otumfuo.
This is the second occasion Amofah has honoured the King with one of his creations. In July 2023, he gifted Otumfuo an 18-karat gold electro-plated customized wristwatch valued at GH₵100,000. That watch was a customized version of Hourhand’s Warrior King Heritage brand, which the company was preparing to introduce to the market at the time.
