The protest was a direct response to years of unaddressed safety concerns. Residents say they’ve repeatedly called for speed ramps and stricter traffic regulation, but their appeals have been ignored. The tragedy has now pushed the community to demand immediate action.

Authorities responded with a joint deployment of police and military personnel to disperse the crowd and restore order. Five individuals were later arrested, signaling the seriousness with which the situation is being handled.

Assemblyman Ibrahim Yogo has emphasized that the community has made multiple formal requests to the Assembly, all of which have gone unanswered. Residents argue that the lack of response has contributed to the growing number of fatalities.

Although traffic has resumed, the underlying issues remain unresolved. The community is now preparing to hold a press conference to amplify their demands and push for concrete intervention. Their message is clear: without structural changes, more lives will be lost.
