Nigerian influencer, Geh Geh, has shared his critical assessment of Davido’s latest studio project, 5ive, labeling the album as average.
Geh Geh, who is known for his blunt opinions, didn’t hold back in expressing his disappointment with the album’s overall execution.
He began by pointing out that some of the collaborations in 5ive, particularly the feature with international star Chris Brown, seemed unnecessary.
Geh Geh argued that many fans do not seem particularly excited by such partnerships, suggesting that Davido might have been better off working with emerging artists to bring something fresh to the album.
Another major critique from Geh Geh was the lack of evolution in Davido’s musical style. He noted that the beats and sound on 5ive were too similar to what Davido had been using throughout his career, with little to no growth in his artistic direction.
In Geh Geh’s opinion, while Davido’s legacy is well-established, this album didn’t take the risks or steps forward that could have elevated his brand to new heights.
“Davido is not evolving; you no dey change, your brand is the same. E just be like say since the days of Dami Duro nothing really change about Davido. Even the sound no dey evolve,” he said in part.
