Amidst the aftermath of the Ejisu by-election, a video has emerged online depicting a man allegedly offering monetary incentives for votes.
In the footage, the man states that his vote is valued at GhC1000 but is reducing the offer to GhC500, with a deadline set for 4 pm.
Its circulation has prompted discussion among netizens about the practices observed during electoral campaigns.
The Ejisu by-election, held recently, has been a subject of interest for many following its conclusion.
This video adds another layer to the discourse surrounding the electoral process and raises questions about the prevalence of vote-buying allegations in Ghanaian politics.
During the election, it was alleged that the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwadaso, Kingsley Nyarko bribed electoral officials.
He was captured in a video offering a white envelope to them.
While it is not known what the envelope contains, it is speculated to be a bribe, specifically money.
Upon public outcry, the Electoral Commission released a statement stating that they had withdrawn the officials from the polling station for investigations to begin.
