The Governing Board of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has advised the management of EOCO to strictly adhere to court directives in the matter regarding Sesi-Edem Company Limited. The EOCO Board directed its officers to fully comply with the interim injunction orders issued by the High Court.
The directive is a response to a petition by Sesi-Edem Company Limited, through its solicitors to the Board, which stated that its Legal Sub-Committee conducted a thorough examination of the claims, alongside relevant High Court rulings and internal investigative reports. The Board concluded that there was no evidence to support the allegation of abuse of power against two senior officials of EOCO.
In a letter signed by the Board Secretary, Sedina Gbeve, on April 22, 2026, the Board is said to have dismissed allegations of abuse of power levelled against the Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, and Deputy Executive Director, Ben Ndego, following a review of a petition submitted on April 9, 2026, to the Board by the solicitors of Sesi-Edem Company Limited.
The Board declined to make further comments on other aspects of the petition, citing ongoing legal proceedings in order to avoid prejudicing the court’s decision.
“Regarding the allegation of unlawful investigations, the Board notes that this specific issue is the subject of the Human Rights Action pending before the High Court with suit No. HR/0060/2026.”
Similarly, claims of defiance of court orders were not addressed, with an explanation that the matter is also before the court and has been appealed, with a stay of execution filed.
Reaffirming its mandate, the Board stated that EOCO remains committed to carrying out its duties in accordance with the EOCO Act, 2010 (Act 804), and the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
