Rumours that Asante Kotoko’s Administrative Manager, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, betrayed former CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah have been addressed and denied.
Dasoberi served in the same capacity during Nana Yaw Amponsah’s stint as CEO, however Otumfuo chose to use an interim management committee instead of extending their mandate.
Amponsah therefore anticipated taking his allies with him when he left the club, but Dasoberi agreed to take on a leadership position.
Dasoberi categorically refuted the charges in a recent appearance on Kessben FM, saying that he never betrayed Amponsah in spite of rumors to the contrary.
Dasoberi explained that he contacted Amponsah to give a thorough explanation of the circumstances after accepting the position of member of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) in order to carry out his responsibilities.
He did, however, disclose that he had not heard back from Amponsah thus far despite his attempts to get in touch with him.
“I did not betray him. After I got the job as an IMC member to continue, I sent him (Nana Yaw Amponsah a message narrating everything but as of today, he has still not responded to the messages.”
