Boxing icon and Olympic gold medalist George Foreman has passed away at the age of 76, his family has confirmed.
Known as “Big George,” Foreman had one of the most remarkable careers in boxing, winning the world heavyweight title twice—21 years apart—becoming the oldest champion in history at 45.
Foreman first won the title in 1973 by defeating Joe Frazier but lost it a year later in the legendary “Rumble in the Jungle” against Muhammad Ali. Over his career, he secured an astonishing 76 victories, including 68 knockouts.
Beyond the ring, Foreman reinvented himself as a preacher and businessman. His George Foreman Grill became a global success, earning him far more than his boxing career.
His family described him as a man of faith, discipline, and conviction, leaving behind a powerful legacy in both sports and entrepreneurship.
