TikTok sensation Deaconess Abokoma recently opened up about his regrets regarding higher education, revealing that attending university felt like a wasted opportunity.
In an interview with ZionFelix, the former student of Takoradi Technical University (TTU) shared his frustrations about his academic journey, stating that, in hindsight, he would have made different choices.
Reflecting on his experience, Abokoma admitted that if he had received the right guidance or foresight, he would have bypassed university altogether.
Instead, he expressed a belief that investing his tuition fees into farming would have been far more beneficial.
He humorously suggested that by now, he might have earned recognition as a top farmer, given the opportunities he sees in agriculture.
Although Abokoma pursued a degree in fashion at TTU, he acknowledged that it wasn’t his passion. In high school, he studied food and nutrition, but a shift to fashion at university proved to be challenging.
The transition into a field he was unfamiliar with led to struggles during his academic years, making the experience less fulfilling.
Graduating in 2020, Deaconess Abokoma admitted that life after university was difficult. However, by 2024, things started to improve, and he eventually found his footing.
The TikToker shared his story as a cautionary tale, encouraging others to carefully consider their educational paths and make decisions based on passion and foresight rather than societal expectations.
The interview gives a glimpse into the struggles young people face when navigating the complexities of education and career choices.
