Renowned musician Erico, born Eric Okine, has exposed a harrowing tale of deceit and betrayal, revealing how he feigned his own death to uncover his wife’s infidelity during a period of grave health issues.
Sharing the details of this extraordinary chapter of his life, Erico recounted, “I was with my wife during those times I had kidney issues. I had serious problems, but the good thing was it was diagnosed early. Because of the cost of drugs, I sold all my properties to buy drugs.”
“I quite remember the doctor told me within 6 months I would be fine because the drugs were working. So when I went home, I said it this way to my wife: I lied to her that the doctor says I will die in 5 months and I may even be on dialysis soon.”
She said that was when he realised his wife did not love him that much.
“She should have even given me even one month. I was on my bed pretending to be asleep when I saw my wife taking pictures with the phone I bought for her. I thought she was wearing something because he was lying on the couch, but when she got up, I saw her naked. I was shocked.”
She had someone in the desert, Dubai, who had promised to marry her. Interestingly, after taking the pictures, the man called and she was like, ‘Just these few pics and see how you are behaving and you are saying they are beautiful, then when you come…’ She thought I was asleep. Then she said, ‘If you want to marry me, marry me because this one will die.’”
He began to fear for his life.
“That was when I realized that my wife can poison me. It was in the morning, and I woke up and said, ‘Eii.’ I told her to keep the place, and then I went to Kumasi to heal myself,” Erico narrated, reflecting on the harrowing experience.
