The final funeral rites for 22-year-old University of Education, Winneba (UEW) student, Nicholas Kumi Obeng, were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in his hometown of Kwahu Obomeng, where he was laid to rest.
A crowd of mourners, gripped by emotion, gathered at a community park to bid farewell to the young man, whose life was cut short under controversial and tragic circumstances.

Nicholas, also known by the nickname “Khon Void,” was a first-year Art Education student affiliated with GUSSS Hall One at UEW. His death, initially reported as a suicide on April 17, followed a disturbing incident where he allegedly found his girlfriend in bed with another man at GUSSS Hall Two.
Witnesses claimed he fainted at the scene and was revived, only to be discovered dead the following day in what was believed to be a suicide.
However, after his death, students began sharing different accounts that raised suspicions. Some claimed the incident may not have been a suicide after all.
According to these reports, Nicholas had been blackmailing his girlfriend with explicit images, which allegedly led her to retaliate by arranging for a group of men to confront him.
These claims suggest that the confrontation may have turned fatal, and that his death was staged to look like a suicide.
