Veteran Highlife musician and actress Paulina Oduro has asserted that Kofi Kinaata does not need validation from the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), insisting that he is bigger than the award scheme.
Her comments come in response to Kinaata’s exclusion from the upcoming TGMA nominations. Speaking in an interview, she emphasized his immense talent and impact on the music industry, praising his skills in both singing and rap.
“He is bigger than that, and we know who he is. He is cute, handsome, and extremely talented, so he doesn’t need it,” she remarked.
Oduro, who hails from the same region as Kinaata, expressed deep admiration for his career, acknowledging his role in elevating Takoradi and the Western Region in the music scene.
“Kofi Kinaata is my passion because he is from where I am from. From where he started, I am proud of him because he has taken the Western Region and Takoradi to a level where nobody has. He did this all on his own, and I see him as a son,” she added.
Despite the TGMA snub, Kinaata continues to be celebrated for his artistry and contributions to Ghanaian music.
