A remarkable story has emerged about a young woman who transitioned from working as a salesgirl to becoming a millionaire overnight, all thanks to her smartphone.
Brian Jonah Dennis shared this astonishing tale on Facebook, illustrating how a simple act led to a life-changing commission.
The young woman, previously employed at Chicken Republic, had her fortune change when she came across a video on a WhatsApp status showcasing a plot of land for sale.
Inspired by the opportunity, she downloaded the video and reposted it on her own status, adding her phone number for potential buyers to reach her.
Within days, she received a call from an interested buyer wanting to inspect the property.
Excited about the potential sale, she contacted the original poster of the video to facilitate a meeting between the buyer and the landowner while continuing her work at Chicken Republic.
The land was located in Asokoro, one of Abuja’s most affluent areas, and was priced at nearly N1 billion. With a 5% agency fee applicable to the sale, she stood to earn an impressive commission of around N7 million.
Remarkably, she had never even visited the land nor did she know its exact location. However, when the notification of her commission hit her phone, she made a bold decision.
In the middle of her shift, she took off her apron, removed her hairnet, and walked out of the restaurant without informing her supervisors of her resignation.
She seized the moment and left her job behind, fully embracing her newfound wealth.
“I have a friend that was working as a sales girl at Chicken Republic and became a millionaire overnight simply because of her phone.
What did she do?
She simply saw a land for sale video on WhatsApp status. She saved the video and reposted it on her own WhatsApp status and watermarked it with her phone number.
A few days later someone called her to ask about inspection, that’s how she also called the main person that posted it to WhatsApp status to ask him about inspection and arranged for both of them to meet, while she dutifully went to work.
Apparently the buyer was serious, the land was in Asokoro, a very expensive part of Abuja and was nearly 1bn. 5% agency fee applied and she got about N7m as her own cut.
She never went to the land. She doesn’t even know where in Asokoro it was and I don’t need to tell you that she quit immediately the alert came in. Middle of the day, she took off her apron, removed her hairnet and walked out of the door of Chicken republic. She didn’t even inform them she was quitting. She just walked out and never came back
Na phone she press oh.”
