I Pray that God Gives Me a Portion of Otumfuo’s Wisdom – Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II

The Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Council, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, has expressed his desire to attain a portion of the wisdom possessed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.

His wish stems from the enormous responsibility he now carries as the Vice President of the National House of Chiefs.

During a visit to Manhyia Palace on February 26, 2025, Buipewura reflected on the significance of his new role and prayed for divine guidance to lead effectively.

He acknowledged Otumfuo’s unparalleled wisdom and leadership, hoping to emulate the qualities that have defined the Asantehene’s reign.

His visit was also to extend gratitude to Otumfuo for the support and blessings that contributed to his successful election as Vice President of the National House of Chiefs in November 2024.

Buipewura recalled how he had sought the Asantehene’s counsel before entering the race, where he was the only candidate from the northern part of Ghana. He attributed his decisive victory, securing 54 out of 73 votes, to the encouragement and blessings he received from Otumfuo.

Beyond the election, he also credited the Asantehene for playing a crucial role in ensuring his continued reign, revealing that Otumfuo’s intervention spared him from being deskinned in 2011.

He described the Asantehene as a constant source of support, referring to him as his “God on earth.”

To show his appreciation, he brought an Imam to offer prayers for Otumfuo’s long life, recognising his invaluable contribution to Ghana’s traditional leadership.

In response, Otumfuo reaffirmed his confidence in Buipewura’s capabilities, commending his humility and steadfastness. The Asantehene noted that he had known Buipewura for years and admired his continued respectfulness.

Accompanying Buipewura to Manhyia Palace was a delegation from the Buipe Traditional Council, including several sub-chiefs such as Danyanwura, Jawasewura, Kunshiwura, Koliwura, Koyapewura, Mandewura, Neripewura, Chaliwura, and Masheri-Ase Wuche.
