Famous for his parts in the popular series “SGIT,” Nollywood actor Ayoola Ayolola recently offered some honest reflections on his acting career.
Ayolola revealed the motivation for his desire to pursue acting in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, citing financial difficulties as a key element.
Ayolola always had a hidden gift for performing, but he was hesitant to pursue it seriously at first. But then something made him think twice.
Ayolola said, “I went into acting because I was broke.”
He recounted his hardships, including days of physical starvation and financial hardship during a time of financial instability.
Ayolola stressed that his desire to survive overshadowed his desire for fame when he decided to pursue a career in acting.
“Not hungry for success o, I was physically hungry for days and I couldn’t afford things,” he said.
The actor thought back to his previous struggles, such as having to borrow money to cover necessities even though he had non-liquid assets.
Ayolola exposed the less glamorous side of the entertainment industry and the resiliency needed to overcome its obstacles with his open disclosures.
