Man kills gay partner in Takoradi after rejecting advances

A 19-year-old man from Kasoa Opeikuma narrowly escaped being lynched in Assin Fosu after attempting to sodomize another man.

The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, had allegedly contacted the young man through a WhatsApp group, proposing a sexual encounter at a hotel in Assin Fosu.

The victim, who strongly opposes homosexuality, agreed to meet the suspect but secretly organized a group of young men to confront him.

Upon the suspect’s arrival, he was met with an angry mob, and a severe beating ensued.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly confessed to being gay and seeking sexual relations with the victim.

The situation took a turn when Hon. Ibrahim Kankam Danso, the Assembly Member for the Trafo Electoral Area, intervened and rescued the suspect from the mob, preventing a potential lynching.

The suspect sustained multiple bruises in the altercation.

In a statement, the suspect admitted to being involved in same-sex relationships for the past two years, after a friend allegedly introduced him to the act during his secondary school years, citing financial hardship as a contributing factor.

Despite the violence, no official police report has been filed regarding the incident at this time.
