Kevin Taylor Predicts NPP's Demise in 2028 Based on Recent Poll Results

US-based Ghanaian journalist Kevin Taylor has shared a bold prediction regarding the fate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2028 elections.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, April 3, 2025, Taylor revealed that while he does not claim to be a prophet, he foresees the NPP being “nullified” in 2028, based on a recent poll he referenced.

The poll in question was conducted by Mussa Dankwah, and Taylor’s statement was prompted by the results showing that if the 2024 presidential candidates were to compete again, former President John Dramani Mahama (JDM) would secure an even greater victory.

According to the poll, Mahama would win 59% of the vote, while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (DMB), the current Vice President and NPP candidate, would capture just 35%. The remaining 6% would be split among other candidates.

The poll’s findings suggest that Mahama’s popularity has continued to grow since the 2024 elections, and if another election were held under similar conditions, his margin of victory would be even wider.

Many Ghanaians have responded to the poll, with some praising Mahama’s leadership and the positive reception of his administration, while others remain cautious, suggesting that the political landscape could shift before the next election.

In contrast, Bawumia’s support has remained relatively stagnant, with only 35% of voters expressing their intention to vote for him. This has raised concerns within the NPP, suggesting that the party may face significant challenges in regaining voter confidence by 2028.

While the poll offers a snapshot of current public sentiment, it is important to note that actual elections depend on a wide range of factors, including campaign strategies, government performance, and the overall economic environment leading up to the election.
