Veteran journalist and editor of The Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has pushed back against the intense criticism he has faced since his daughter, Ama Pratt, was appointed as the Press Secretary to the Vice President.
During a discussion on Peace FM, Pratt expressed frustration over the backlash, describing the insults directed at him as excessive.
While he acknowledged that public figures are often scrutinized, he found it unreasonable that his daughter’s professional role had triggered such hostility.
Some of the comments, he noted, went as far as calling for divine punishment against him, despite having no involvement in the appointment process.
He emphasized that Ama Pratt is a qualified professional, fully capable of handling her responsibilities.
Since taking on the role in January 2025, she has been managing communications for the Vice President’s office, acting as the official spokesperson, and overseeing media strategies.
The appointment continues to generate discussion, with divided opinions over the reactions it has sparked.
