Ghanaian entertainer and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as Lilwin, has achieved a major breakthrough as his movie A Country Called Ghana officially premieres on Amazon Prime, marking a huge win for the local film industry.
In a celebratory video posted to his social media, Lilwin and his manager Ray Moni were seen excitedly watching the movie stream live on the global platform—a moment that symbolized a dream fulfilled.
The actor-turned-producer used the moment to address skeptics who had earlier dismissed his project, saying the film wouldn’t amount to much outside Kumawood circles. With its current global exposure, however, the movie has defied expectations and proven its potential.
Lilwin didn’t miss the opportunity to show appreciation to those who stood by him, particularly his spiritual mentor, Prophet Adom Kyei, whom he credited for constant prayers and support throughout the journey.
He also issued a heartfelt plea to his fanbase both in Ghana and the diaspora, encouraging them to watch and purchase the film on Amazon Prime to support Ghanaian cinema’s journey to international recognition.
Calling on all Ghanaians to rally behind local content, Lilwin expressed hope that A Country Called Ghana would open more doors for homegrown talent on the global stage.
