A District Court in Awutu Breku has remanded Michael Nelson, a 22-year-old electrician, into police detention following an odd event in Millennium City, Kasoa.
Nelson is charged with disseminating false information and causing unlawful harm after he reportedly called in a false report about his penis shrinking and blamed nail technician Safiru Bohari for the incident.
Nelson’s plea was rejected by the Naomi Kontuor-led court during the hearing. His next court appearance is set for April 11, 2024.
Chief Inspector Bernice Wie Kpuusu and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Sarfo led the prosecution’s presentation of the incident’s details to the court.
Nelson approached Bohari, who was sleeping beneath a mango tree, on March 27, 2024, the prosecution claims, and falsely accused him of causing his penis to wither. Bohari was severely injured after Nelson allegedly sounded a fake alarm, leading onlookers to attack him violently.
Both individuals were taken to the Millennium City Police station, where the matter was reported, after a witness intervened.
Following a medical check, Nelson’s condition was found to be stable and free of flaws, proving that his claim of penile shrinking was untrue. Nelson was placed under police custody after Bohari and Nelson both received medical attention.
The news of shrinking manhood was trending on the internet. While some believed it, others doubted it.
