Nigerian Afrobeats star and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has reaffirmed his commitment to Ghana’s entertainment industry, pledging a $2 million investment to develop modern indoor and outdoor event venues in Accra, subject to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) granting him land.
The emPawa Africa founder made the appeal during his headline performance at Detty Rave 2025 on Saturday, December 27, at Untamed Empire, off the Spintex Road. Pausing mid-performance, Mr Eazi urged the GTA to support Ghana’s creative sector by providing land for world-class event infrastructure.
According to the musician, doubts may exist regarding the seriousness of his proposal, which is why he publicly committed the $2 million as proof of his dedication.
“We need proper venues for events in Ghana, and I want the Ghana Tourism Authority to know that I need land for both an outdoor and an indoor venue,” he told the crowd. “If the Authority thinks I am not serious, I am pledging $2 million. All I’m asking for is a space in Accra to build a proper rave yard, along with a 3,000-capacity indoor events centre.”
Detty Rave, widely celebrated as one of Africa’s premier Afrodance music festivals, returned this year under the theme “Raise the Heat,” delivering its most ambitious edition yet. Untamed Empire was transformed into a vibrant hub of sound, light, and energy as thousands of revellers enjoyed electrifying performances.
The 2025 edition marked the seventh staging of Detty Rave and featured a star-studded lineup including Davido, J Hus, SPINALL, Nooriyah, Chichi DJ, Ciza, DJ Aroma, and Choplife Soundsystem.
