Ghanaian artist manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, known in the entertainment industry as Bulldog, has spoken out following Shatta Wale’s recent public apology for defamatory claims made in 2022.
The accusations linked Bulldog to the 2014 murder of Fennec Okyere, a case that remains unsolved.
In response to the damaging allegations, Bulldog initiated a defamation lawsuit seeking GH¢1 million in compensation.
The claims, which sparked widespread controversy, not only impacted his career but also deeply affected his household, particularly his wife and children, who endured public scrutiny and emotional distress.
Over time, discussions led to an out-of-court resolution.
By mid-2023, both parties had reportedly agreed that Shatta Wale would issue a formal apology and cover Bulldog’s legal fees, which amounted to around GH¢100,000.
Despite this agreement, Bulldog revealed that the conditions were not promptly fulfilled, with Shatta Wale failing to follow through on the settlement terms.
It wasn’t until legal enforcement was initiated that Shatta Wale revisited the matter and offered an official apology in April 2025.
While the apology addressed part of the issue, the financial obligation remains outstanding.
Bulldog emphasized that his pursuit of legal action wasn’t driven by revenge, but rather by the need to protect his name and restore his reputation.
Although progress has been made, the issue remains partly unresolved, with legal fees still unpaid. He hopes the remaining matters will be concluded soon so both sides can move on from the conflict.
