A disturbing kidnapping case that gripped social media users has seen a major breakthrough, as law enforcement agencies in Ghana and Nigeria worked together to arrest multiple suspects and rescue the victims involved.
The case first came to light through a graphic viral video that showed one of the kidnapped women completely naked and being abused by her captors, sparking widespread outrage and calls for immediate action.
The Ghana Police Service quickly responded, launching an investigation in partnership with the National Signals Bureau.
With support from the Nigeria Police Force, a coordinated effort was mounted to track down the perpetrators. Their combined work led to the successful rescue of both female victims who had been held captive.
Authorities confirmed that a total of eight suspects have been apprehended from various hideouts across both countries.
These individuals are believed to be responsible for orchestrating the abduction and cruel treatment captured in the viral footage.
Police praised the teamwork that made the operation successful, highlighting the significance of cross-border collaboration in dismantling criminal networks.
While the victims are now safe, investigations are continuing to ensure all those involved face justice.
