In a dramatic turn of events at the Electoral Commission (EC) registration center in Nkoranza North, Atta Kwame, who is allegedly the Deputy Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency, has unleashed serious curses on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The accusations and curses stem from allegations that the NPP is bussing individuals from outside the constituency to transfer their votes.
Atta Kwame claims that individuals from Ashanti Regions and Kwahu have been transported to Nkoranza North to register, despite not being residents of the constituency. According to him, this act of bringing outsiders to influence the voter registration process is a direct attempt to manipulate the upcoming elections.
In a public display of anger and frustration, Kwame called upon the local deities to intervene, invoking deadly curses on those he accused. “May the gods kill all of them and let them have car accidents,” he reportedly exclaimed, aiming his words at the alleged perpetrators and their facilitators.
The voters’ registration exercise began on 7th of May 2024 and ended on 29th May, 2024 after it was extended by 2 days. This was followed by the transfer of votes, application for Proxy voting, and replacement of lost or damaged voter ID cards on 30th May, which will also end on 14th June, 2024.
