A wave of tragedy has swept through Akyem Osenase in the Eastern Region, claiming the lives of 22 individuals within a month and two weeks.
Reports indicate that the fatalities occurred after residents consumed meat from stolen pregnant goats, igniting a chain of events that has left the community in shock.
According to accounts from Nkawkaw-based radio station Agoo FM, the devastating ordeal began when two individuals, victims of goat theft, resorted to invoking curses upon discovering the theft of their livestock.
One resident, upon finding his goat brutally dismembered with a portion missing, buried the remains and invoked curses on the perpetrators.
Similarly, another individual, upon realizing his goat was missing, sought solace in a shrine in the Volta Region, invoking curses in a desperate bid for justice.
Tragically, the stolen goats allegedly found their way into the local supply chain, being sold to a drinking bar in the area. Unbeknownst to consumers, the meat served at the establishment included that of the stolen goats, leading to the fatal consequences that have rocked the community.
