President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that the La General Hospital will be completed on time to serve the growing healthcare needs of residents.
The President gave the assurance during a working visit to the project site in Accra on Friday, April 24, 2026, where he inspected ongoing works and interacted with project officials.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Mahama stressed the importance of completing the hospital, noting that Accra’s fast-growing population requires improved access to quality healthcare.
He said the government is committed to doing everything possible to ensure the project is delivered for public use.
The reconstruction of the hospital, estimated at 50 million euros, is expected to provide a modern facility with advanced medical equipment and increased capacity to serve thousands of patients each year.
The project forms part of government efforts to revive stalled infrastructure, especially in the health sector, where demand continues to rise.
Authorities say work on the hospital is back on track, with completion now scheduled for 2027.
