Former Ghanaian footballer and Hearts of Oak striker Prince Tagoe has opened up about his deep-rooted relationship with celebrated dancehall star Stonebwoy, offering insights into how he supported the musician long before fame found him.
In a recent interview, Tagoe recounted how his bond with Stonebwoy started well before the artist’s breakthrough in the entertainment industry.
According to him, the relationship wasn’t just personal—it involved tangible acts of generosity that significantly impacted Stonebwoy’s music journey.
At a time when the Bhim Nation leader was still building his name, Tagoe not only offered emotional backing but also provided crucial logistical help. He went as far as making his fleet of luxury vehicles available to both Stonebwoy and his then-manager, Black Cedi, helping them move around for shows, studio sessions, and even video shoots.
The former Black Stars forward revealed that this consistent support stemmed from a firm belief in Stonebwoy’s potential and a brotherly connection that extended beyond friendship.
He noted that during those early days, it wasn’t unusual to see Stonebwoy arrive at major events like those at the Accra Sports Stadium in one of Tagoe’s flashy cars, including a Porsche.
The revelations highlight how behind-the-scenes support from unexpected allies can play a major role in the rise of successful talents.
