Founder of Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has stirred widespread discussions after sharing a surprising story involving his nephew’s arrest.
The pastor recounted how he insisted that his nephew face the consequences after being detained by the Adenta Police for wrongful overtaking while allegedly tailing the convoy of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
According to Prophet Oduro, his nephew called him shortly after being arrested, hoping for intervention. The young man explained that he had been travelling from Dodowa when the incident occurred.
However, the police revealed that the arrest happened because he had been following the IGP’s convoy from Somanya to Adenta, a serious security concern that warranted immediate action.
Instead of pleading for his nephew’s release, Prophet Oduro chose a different approach. Upon speaking directly with the police officer handling the case, he identified himself but shocked both the officer and his congregation by instructing that his nephew be detained over the weekend.
The young man remained in custody until Monday, when he was presented in court.
Prophet Oduro explained his decision, stating that he believed it was important for his nephew to face the consequences of his actions. By refusing to use his influence to secure his nephew’s release, he sought to teach him a valuable lesson about accountability and responsibility.
He further revealed that when his nephew called again before the court appearance, his only response was that he would pray for him.
The revelation has sparked mixed reactions among the public. While some praised the pastor’s commitment to instilling discipline and accountability within his family, others argued that his approach was too harsh, suggesting that family support should come first in such situations.
Critics also pointed out the potential risks associated with following an IGP convoy, highlighting security concerns that justify strict penalties. Others commended the police for enforcing the law without bias, regardless of the young man’s connection to a well-known religious leader.
As the story continues to trend, many have weighed in on broader issues, such as the role of influential figures in upholding the law and setting examples for younger generations. Some argue that Prophet Oduro’s actions demonstrate true leadership, while others believe the situation could have been handled with more compassion.
Regardless of the differing opinions, Prophet Kofi Oduro’s account has reignited conversations about law enforcement, respect for authority, and the delicate balance between family loyalty and moral responsibility in Ghanaian society.
