Two siblings with suspected mental health issues have been apprehended by the police following a horrific incident in Abuakwa Manhyia, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The siblings, believed to be in the grip of psychological distress, allegedly set their family home ablaze, resulting in the tragic demise of their mother.
According to reports, the distressing sequence of events unfolded following a heated dispute between the siblings and their grandmother.
Allegedly, amidst the dispute, the siblings threatened to immolate their grandmother, instilling a sense of fear and urgency in the elderly woman.
Fearing for her safety, the grandmother promptly alerted the authorities about the chilling threat posed by her grandchildren. However, before she could return home with the police, the siblings proceeded with their ominous plan.
With cold determination, the siblings set their own home ablaze, locking the doors to ensure no escape for their mother who was trapped inside. As the flames consumed the residence, the mother’s desperate cries for help could be heard.
Despite the frantic efforts of neighbors to extinguish the inferno and rescue the trapped woman, their valiant attempts were thwarted by the ferocity of the flames.
Tragically, the mother succumbed to the merciless blaze.
The remains of the mother were transported to the morgue.
