President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that the true state of the economy inherited from the Akufo-Addo administration will be fully revealed in the upcoming 2025 budget and national economic dialogue.
During his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on February 27, 2025, he stated that these two events would provide a clear picture of Ghana’s economic challenges and offer solutions to restore stability and growth.
He emphasised that his government would not engage in blame games but rather focus on tackling the issues head-on.
“My mandate is to fix the country’s problems, and that is exactly what I intend to do,” he affirmed, expressing his determination to transform the economy and set Ghana on a path to sustainable development by the end of his tenure in 2029.
Mahama reiterated that his administration had already developed a comprehensive plan to address the economic crisis.
The national economic dialogue, scheduled for March 3rd and 4th, will set the stage for discussions on the country’s financial situation, while the Finance Minister will present the 2025 budget on March 11.
This approach, he noted, would ensure transparency and accountability, allowing Ghanaians to fully understand the economic landscape and the measures being taken to improve it.
