“Our goal is to ensure that property owners and businesses in the country have access to reliable and modern perimeter security solutions,” the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fences Ghana Limited, William Asante Agyei, has said.

He said the company was working to expand the availability of electric fencing systems in the country in partnership with NEMTEK, a manufacturing company.

“This is to strengthen security options for homeowners, installers, and businesses, while also providing systems with early warning and backup power capabilities,” he said.

He was speaking at a launch hosted by Fences Ghana Limited, which brought together installers, distributors, and end users to introduce the new systems to the local market.

Mr Agyei explained that Fences Ghana Limited served as a primary distributor for NEMTEK in the country and provided services for customers.

He added that the company sold to homeowners and also to installers who carried out their own installations.

Supplies

For his part, the NEMTEK export representative, Dewald Van Der Poel, said the company manufactured and supplied electric fencing equipment in South Africa and relied on its partners in the country to make the systems accessible across the country.

He said the systems were designed to deter intruders and manage access to properties without causing harm.

Mr Poel added that alarms were triggered when fences were tampered with or voltage drops, allowing security personnel or monitoring centres to respond.

He also highlighted that the systems could continue operating during power outages and were intended to provide security without significantly altering the appearance of properties.

Installers applaud training

One of the trainees, Alexander Miller, said the training session was useful for installers and technicians.

“We came to learn about the new products they are bringing onto the market and also to get technical details and training in how to install them and how to service them.

It is of great help,” he said.

He said he had worked in the electric fencing industry for about four years, adding that the training from the manufacturer provided a deeper understanding than field experience alone.

“There are certain things we learn on the field, but when the manufacturer of the product himself comes to explain, you get a better understanding of how to go out there and work,” he explained.
