Sadick Assah, renowned music promoter and CEO of Sleeky Promotions, has publicly supported Stonebwoy’s bid for the coveted Artiste of the Year title at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Sleeky, a long-time advocate for the dancehall artist, emphasized that Stonebwoy’s outstanding achievements throughout 2024 make him the most deserving candidate.
He outlined Stonebwoy’s impressive body of work last year, highlighting his chart-topping singles Ekelebe, Your Body, Pray for Me, and Jejereje, along with his numerous successful collaborations with both local and international artists like NSG, Prince Buk Bak, Jordin Sparks, Beeztrap KOTM, Gariba, and D’Yani.
Furthermore, Sleeky pointed out Stonebwoy’s dominance on stage, where he consistently showcased his talent both in Ghana and abroad.
He performed at high-profile events such as the Africa Prosperity Champions Awards, the TECNO CAMON 30 Series launch, the TGMA 25th Anniversary Industry Mixer, and his own Bhim Festival Beach Edition in Accra.
Internationally, he represented Ghana at the Cali Vibes Festival in California, Reggae Geel Festival in Belgium, and World Music Day Carnival Concert in Paris.
In Sleeky’s view, Stonebwoy’s ability to maintain a strong international presence while releasing top-charting songs shows his unparalleled consistency. Despite fierce competition from King Promise and King Paluta, Sleeky believes Stonebwoy’s efforts in 2024 have been unmatched.
The race for Artiste of the Year has become increasingly intense, with King Paluta receiving significant support from the Ashanti Region, particularly from MC Portfolio, while King Promise is also gaining traction with the backing of his management team, led by Killbeatz.
However, Sleeky remains firm in his belief that Stonebwoy’s remarkable year makes him the best contender for the title. He urged the TGMA board to base their decision on the artist’s influence, output, and achievements rather than sentiment.
