Apostle Abram Owusu Amoah is the Founder of the Gentiles Revival Ministry International

Apostle Abram Owusu Amoah, the Founder and Leader of the Gentiles Revival Ministry International, has claimed that Ghana is not making progress in its development process because of one single act – the swearing of the Oath of Office by public office holders.

According to him, the country has been reduced to curses because politicians, from the president to Members of Parliament, keep violating the oath they swear before the people of Ghana.

He said that God even barred the people of Israel, whom He loved so much, from swearing oaths because they continuously violated them and placed a curse on the act.

“When it comes to politics, a president, an MP, I’m talking about the whole world, whether at the White House, any Christian country, swears in. So, they promise to be faithful, rule with integrity, but they end in (sic). So, can you imagine an MP swearing before the nation and then being allocated money to serve his community, but instead serving himself and his own family?

“Are we kidding? Are we joking?… now, this is what has become a curse because when the people of Israel, God, what he did was that he banned swearing and put a curse on it. He sent the Prophet Zechariah and told them they should not swear at all and that anyone who swears, a curse will come upon him and his home,” he said at the launch of his church’s Jesus of Nazareth campaign on February 20, 2026.

The leader of Gentiles Revival Ministry International also said that the Lord and Saviour of Christians, Jesus of Nazareth, also barred the act of swearing oaths, but people who claim to be his followers are today engaging in them.

“When Jesus of Nazareth, that is the New Testament, came… he said simply, ‘Do not swear at all,’” he said.

Apostle Owusu Amoah also criticised Christian leaders in the country for looking on as the act continues and for also engaging in it themselves, questioning who the pastors swear to because Jesus has barred them from doing so.

He added that he was going to seek an audience with President John Dramani Mahama to speak to him on the act so it can be put to a stop.
