Wisa Greid is questioning whether the Musicians Union of Ghana is delivering on its mandate, saying he has yet to experience any real support from the body meant to champion artistes’ interests.

Speaking on Starr FM on February 23, 2026, the Ghanaian artiste did not hide his disappointment, arguing that MUSIGA’s presence has not translated into practical benefits for him or many of his colleagues.

“Honestly speaking, I don’t really see what MUSIGA is doing for us, the musicians. I don’t see the benefits or anything at all,” he said.

According to Wisa, he enrolled in the union at the start of his career with high expectations. He believed membership would open doors to mentorship, industry guidance and some form of structured backing as he navigated the music scene.

“When I started doing music, I went there because I thought I could definitely get help from them, like something at least. Ever since I joined, I don’t know what they do to help the music industry,” he disclosed.

Over time, he said, conversations among senior industry players have only deepened his doubts. Rather than inspire confidence, those exchanges have made him hesitant to align himself closely with the union’s activities.

“Sometimes, when our seniors in the industry are talking about this, you won’t even be motivated to associate yourself with them. I don’t want to involve myself or pay attention to them because I don’t want to say something that I’m not supposed to say,” he stated.

Wisa further wondered what incentive upcoming artistes have to join if established names appear unconvinced about the union’s value.

“Moreover, I don’t know what they will give me because if the senior artistes are not really benefiting from them, then what will I gain?” Wisa Greid questioned.
