A 36-year-old man, Lukman Husaini, has been fatally stabbed in the Tashan Tabo district of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Nigeria.
The tragic incident, which has shocked the local community, is believed to have stemmed from ongoing tensions between the victim and his wife, Ummi Lukman.
According to reports, Husaini was attacked at the entrance of their home, where he was found lying in a pool of blood after seeking help.
His wife is alleged to have disposed of the weapon by throwing it into a toilet pit after the attack. Family members and neighbours were left in distress as they recounted the events leading up to his death.
The victim’s brother, Abdullahi Jibrin, described signs of escalating tension in the marriage, stating that Ummi had shown growing resentment towards her husband’s decision to reconcile with his ex-wife.
He further revealed that weeks before the fatal stabbing, she had reportedly poured hot water on him, indicating a pattern of aggression.
Relatives had previously advised Husaini to leave the marriage, particularly in the days leading up to the incident.
Although he initially divorced Ummi, he later accepted her back after she apologised.
However, the situation eventually escalated, resulting in his tragic death.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, while the community remains in shock over the violent turn of events. The case highlights the complexities of domestic conflicts and their potentially devastating consequences.
