Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has launched a fiery attack on President John Dramani Mahama, accusing him of failing the country shortly after assuming office.
Speaking during the NPP’s “Thank You” tour held in Kumasi, Wontumi didn’t hold back as he blamed the president for what he described as Ghana’s deteriorating condition.
He claimed that instead of building upon the progress made in previous years, President Mahama had already begun reversing the efforts of hardworking Ghanaians within just a few months of taking office.
Wontumi expressed disappointment that Mahama’s actions do not align with the hopes Ghanaians had when they went to the polls in the December 7 general elections.
According to him, the NPP’s legacy is being threatened by decisions made under the new administration.
Despite his criticisms, the outspoken NPP leader remains confident in his party’s chances, boldly predicting that the NPP will bounce back to reclaim power in the next general election.
His remarks have sparked discussions among political observers, with some seeing it as the early signs of a heated opposition campaign.
