At a press briefing in Accra, CID Director-General COP Lydia Yaako Donkor recalled how officers arrived at a horrific scene on May 19, 2024. Alberta and one of her children were already dead, lying in a pool of blood with multiple deep wounds. A second child, gravely injured with cuts to the head, was rushed to the hospital, while a five-month-old baby was miraculously found alive on a sofa.

A post-mortem later confirmed that the deaths were caused by severe head injuries from assault.

After months of investigation, police linked the killings to Alberta’s partner, Samuel Amoah, also known as Biggie. According to COP Donkor, the couple’s relationship had broken down following a heated dispute over money. In a violent outburst, Amoah attacked Alberta and the children before fleeing the scene.

Following months of intelligence operations, Amoah was arrested on September 17, 2025, in Suhum. Under interrogation, he confessed to the crime and expressed remorse.
