Tensions escalated in Dadieso, the district capital of Suaman District in Ghana’s Western North Region, as enraged youths took to the streets to protest against perceived governance failures. The protest resulted in the blocking of roads, disrupting the passage of Vice President Bawumia.
Dadieso, a community in the Suaman District, has long grappled with issues such as poor infrastructure, lack of basic amenities, and limited economic opportunities. The residents’ frustrations reached a boiling point, prompting them to demand action from authorities to address their grievances.
The presence of Vice President Bawumia in the region further fueled the intensity of the protest, with demonstrators seizing the opportunity to draw attention to their plight and demand accountability from government officials.
There have however been reports that the youth did not block the road but a gas tanker had an accident and the tanker had not been removed even after 3 days. The road was blocked until the tanker carrying gas was removed.
