The Ghanaian artist Akwaboah has responded to recurring speculation on his parenthood and marital status by stating that he has children from several relationships but hasn’t been married to any of them.
According to him things didn’t go as planned as he has never enjoyed having children with different women.
“These things happen in life. We set expectations for ourselves or assign ourselves deadlines, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. We nevertheless continued on. I didn’t enjoy, as a young man, having kids from two different women and then divorcing them to marry someone else. But things happened, and I’m not sure how to explain it right now.”
He however said that if he had had peace in his previous relationships, he would have stayed.
“Perhaps if those relationships had been more peaceful, I would have remained in them,” he admitted.
Akwaboah emphasized, “They were not virgins when I met them,” in response to a question concerning breaking the virginity of two women and then choosing to marry a virgin.
“I didn’t go for my wife because she was a virgin. Before I told her I wanted to be with her, I had no idea.”
Akwaboah’s marriage to a woman who was rumored to be a virgin gave rise to rumors that he had fathered children with several different women before divorcing them. Due to the significant backlash these rumors received on social media, Akwaboah felt compelled to gently address his detractors online.
In an interview with Delay TV monitored by News & Vibes, Akwaboah officially addressed the matter. While acknowledging his previous partnerships and his role as a father, Akwaboah made it clear that his actions were not made hastily and were impacted by certain circumstances.
