Reports indicate that Ghanaian journalist Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii has received a generous donation of $115,000 from renowned businessman Ibrahim Mahama to cover the cost of eye surgery in Dubai.
Ibrahim Mahama, the CEO of Engineers & Planners Ltd. and Dzata Cement, reportedly made the donation after expressing concern over Adomah’s medical condition.
The donation was allegedly transferred at the end of January 2025 directly from Mahama’s bank account to the personal Ecobank account of Miracle Adomah, the journalist’s wife, at the East Legon branch.
However, questions about transparency have emerged, with some sources uncertain whether the transaction was completed as claimed.
The substantial amount is intended to fund multiple surgical procedures aimed at restoring Adomah’s eyesight.
The journalist’s eye condition is linked to a shooting incident that occurred months ago while covering the Dormaa Kwafie Festival in the Bono Region. The accident left him with severe eye damage, necessitating several operations.
Broadcaster Nana Yaa Brefo brought the story to public attention on January 22, 2025, during the Yen Nsempa Morning Show on Onua FM.
Mahama’s alleged donation forms part of a broader effort to support Adomah’s recovery, highlighting the businessman’s continued philanthropic engagements.
As discussions continue, many await official confirmation from the involved parties to clarify the status of the donation and subsequent medical plans.
