Prominent Ghanaian journalist, Kwesi Pratt, has voiced his approval of Interior Minister Honourable Mohammed Muntaka’s recent stance on the misuse of police escorts in the country.
Pratt took to his social media platform on April 2, 2025, to commend Muntaka for raising pertinent questions about the growing number of individuals receiving police protection, including those who don’t hold public office or possess a clear need for such security.
Pratt expressed concerns over the increasing number of private individuals, non-governmental figures, and other non-officials who are seen regularly using police outriders and sirens to clear traffic.
The practice, according to Pratt, has reached an alarming level, often giving some individuals an unfair advantage over others.
