The family of Adu Boakye, the 39-year-old Ghanaian man fatally shot at a Toronto bus stop, has arrived in Toronto to attend his funeral.

Boakye’s wife and four children were flown from Ghana to mourn his tragic death and participate in the final rites.

Adu Boakye was killed in a senseless act of violence in February 2024. The incident occurred when he was walking near a bus stop and was struck by three bullets in a random shooting.

The shocking event took place just three months after Boakye and his family had moved to Canada, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start.

The family’s arrival in Toronto was marked by deep sorrow, with many members visibly distraught as they disembarked from their flight.

Final funeral rites will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 10 Belfield Road, Toronto. After the ceremony, Adu Boakye will be cremated and his remains interred at Beechwood Cemetery on the same day.
