Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Atuobi Baah, also known as Sammy Flex, has refuted claims that the dancehall artist was not invited to Richard Nii Armah Quaye’s lavish 40th birthday celebration.
Addressing the speculation, Sammy Flex clarified that Shatta Wale did receive an invitation to the event but ultimately chose not to attend.
According to him, the decision was based on a misalignment of “values” between the artist and the event, though he did not provide further details on what those differences entailed.
Richard Nii Armah Quaye’s birthday party, held at Independence Square in Accra on March 22, was a grand affair that saw performances from some of Ghana’s biggest stars, including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, and Efya.
However, the absence of Shatta Wale, one of Ghana’s most prominent musicians, quickly became a topic of discussion, leading to rumors that he had either not been invited or had demanded an exorbitant fee to perform.
Sammy Flex, however, dismissed these speculations, insisting that Shatta Wale’s absence was a personal decision.
While he did not elaborate on what specific values influenced the artist’s choice, his comments suggest that the decision was not due to any dispute between Wale and the event organizers.
Shatta Wale has not personally commented on the issue, but his absence has continued to spark debate among fans and industry watchers.
