Two Kanuwlou Basic School students who were preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) were involved in a sad accident on Sunday while they were in Volo.
While saying goodbye to their older sister, who had come to visit, the students, who had been camping nearby to concentrate on their studies, were hit by a fast moving car.
Tragically, one of the students passed away, and the other is fighting for their life in critical condition.
The community is grieving the loss of a young life and hoping for the other student’s recovery.
The Volta Regional Director of Education, Francis Agbemadi, sent his deep sorrow and sympathies to the grieving family.
He called the event a “deeply sorrowful moment” that affected the school sector as well as the general society.
Osborne Divine Fenu, the chief executive of North Tongu District, further promised the assembly’s and the government’s unwavering assistance during this trying period.
The community is in disbelief, trying to come to terms with the unexpected death and the critically ill student.
Since officials are handling the situation with tact and caution, the identities of the students have not been revealed. The town is in a state of sadness as a result of the horrible tragedy, and everyone is praying for a miracle to save the gravely injured student’s life.
