A heart-wrenching case has come to a close in Kano as a High Court sentenced a man identified as Idris to death by hanging for the gruesome murder of a family of three.
The victims, Aminu Bala, his wife Ruqayya, and their two-year-old daughter Aisha, were killed after their house was deliberately set on fire.
The horrific act was reportedly carried out at the request of a business associate of Aminu, who allegedly promised Idris N200,000 to execute the deadly plot.
According to reports presented during the trial, Idris was contracted to carry out the attack, which resulted in the death of the family in their home. The crime sparked outrage across the state as details of the incident emerged during court proceedings.
Idris was charged with abetment and culpable homicide. After hearing the evidence, Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu ruled that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt.
Delivering the sentence, Justice Adamu-Aliyu pronounced that Idris be executed by hanging for his role in the horrific crime that claimed innocent lives.
The judgment has been met with mixed reactions—some praising the court for upholding justice, while others are grappling with the shocking nature of the crime itself.
